The Proposal
A quick background to set the scene:
It was an unseasonably warm Saturday in December in Hamden, Connecticut, where Nick & Jessica were celebrating the holidays with the Jones family. On Christmas Day, Nick had announced that there was to be a family-wide scavenger hunt that would unveil the last few presents he had for the group -- inspired by the childhood treasure hunts orchestrated by his father Terry during many Christmases and birthdays past (fun fact: it was also Terry's birthday that day!) The trick was that Nick told the family there was a gals hunt and a guys hunt, and they'd all converge at the end to find their gift. Both the guys and the gals were given an initial clue, and they split off to begin the hunt. The ladies deciphered Nick's poetic musings and drove off to New Haven, and the men... abandoned their fake clue and went straight to the final destination. Donned in suits and hiking boots they arrived at Sleeping Giant State Park to meet up with Nick's hometown friends and lug champagne and gear up to the watchtower.
Five clues, 28 miles by car, and 2 miles uphill on foot later, Jessica and the Jones ladies arrived at their final clue to find this, and The Castle Nine was born...
